For The Oncoming Corner #9, artist Liv Strand together with Laurie Berg and Liliana Dirks-Goodman from the dance organization/platform AUNTS are invited to meet and share their interests in creating spaces for collaborative processes and projects.
Laurie and Lilian would like to talk about and think together with us the format of an AUNTS event and how that allows for artists with individual needs and performances to come together and negotiate a shared space, how this often creates collaboration between artists simply by them performing next to each other simultaneously. Important for them is also the role played by the audience and how they want to foster its participation through a free bar and boutique.
Liv wants “to discuss how much or little one need to know beforehand in a collaboration. How much or little that can set up a collaborative space.” In order to do so she wants to share two different collaborations she has been recently part of: the processes and performances of the THROUGH COMPOSITION AS EXPLANATION, an ongoing collaboration with Marcus Doverud and Amelie Rydqvist, and the drum session she included in her recent exhibition Non Cover, at the Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin.
